“World Traveler ” Sweepstakes
No Purchase Necessary To Enter or Win! Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. The “World Traveler” Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes") will begin at 12:00am Eastern Standard Time (EST) on September 1, 2007 ("Sweepstakes Start Date"), and end at 11:59pm EST on December 31, 2007 ("Sweepstakes Period"). Sweepstakes is sponsored by the Ivy League Magazine Network, 7 Ware Street, Cambridge MA 02138 ("sponsor") who is solely responsible for all aspects of this sweepstakes. Supporting network member magazines ("member magazines") will include: Brown Alumni Magazine, Cornell Brown Alumni Magazine, Cornell Alumni Magazine, Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, Harvard Magazine, The Pennsylvania Gazette, Princeton Alumni Weekly, Stanford Magazine, and Yale Alumni Magazine.
Eligibility: Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of the United States and D.C., 21 years of age or older, as of “Sweepstakes Start Date.” Employees, officers and directors of Sponsor, their affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, member magazines, advertising and promotion agencies, (collectively including Sponsor, “Sweepstakes Entities”) their immediate family members (parents, children, siblings, spouses) and persons living in the same household (whether related or not), are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited.
Two Ways to Enter:1) Enter by simply completing the online Sweepstakes registration form located at http://www.worldtravelerhome.com. All entries must be received by 11:59pm EST on December 31, 2007. 2) Complete the magazine entry form and return the form to “World Traveler” Sweepstakes, 1878 East Ave. Rochester, NY 14610. All entries must be postmarked by December 26, 2007, and received by December 31, 2007, and become the property of the Sponsor. One entry per person/per e-mail address. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person or e-mail address that submits more than maximum allowed entries. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Internet Limitations of Liability:If for any reason this sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the sweepstakes in whole or in part, at any time, without notice and award the prizes using all non-suspect eligible entries received as of this termination date. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. The Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this sweepstakes. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON (S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for two (2) people to New Zealand on Qantas Airlines flying round-trip coach from LAX plus 12 days/10 nights accommodations. Highlights of the trip include: Two nights in Auckland at the elegant, opera-themed Mollie’s Boutique Hotel, Two nights at the Lake Taupo Lodge (in New Zealand’s volcanic heartland, in a superbly appointed balcony suite with breakfast and dinner daily), Two nights at the chic Sofitel Hotel in Queenstown (the South Island’s Adventure Capital), Two nights at the Grasmere Lodge High Country Retreat (high in the South Island’s alpine region including breakfast & dinner daily), and Two nights Christchurch, New Zealand’s garden city (at The George Boutique Hotel, on the banks of the quaint Avon River). In addition, the winner will receive a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Kit (ARV is $899). A car rental for eight (8) nights is available (Maui intermediate sedan with automatic transmission) in the prize package (Rental car prize offer valid through October 31st, 2008 only. Car must be picked up or dropped off in Auckland or Christchurch. Additional drop off fees of NZD$175 or more apply to drop car in Rotorua or Queenstown). Car rental is subject to availability at time of booking. Winner must provide the sponsor a minimum 2 month lead time for the requested departure date. The travel, event tickets and accommodations for any event selected can not exceed the maximum allowable prize amount of $11,300. While prize suppliers will make every effort to confirm the winner’s reservations as requested, operational and/or market conditions may prevent them from doing so on the requested dates. Travel, event tickets and accommodations are subject to capacity controls, availability, blackout dates and other restrictions, all of which are subject to change at Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Grand Prize will be deemed awarded upon the winner’s travel/lodging confirmation. The Sponsor will determine transportation and hotel accommodations. Winner and his/her guest will be solely responsible for all other expenses not specifically set forth herein including but not limited to US domestic airfare/transportation to and from Los Angeles (to LAX), airline taxes, ground transportation, transfers, tours, domestic flights within New Zealand, tips, meals (not specified), fuel, US & Foreign taxes/fees, Security Fees, insurances, waivers and/or accident coverage, telephone, in-room services, gratuities, souvenirs and any other incidentals. Winner and travel companion must execute liability/publicity releases prior to issuance of travel documents. If travel companion is a minor, parent or legal guardian must sign and return release and accompany minor on trip. Travel restrictions, Blackout dates, conditions and limitations may apply. Sponsor will not replace any lost, mutilated, or stolen travel vouchers or certificates. By accepting the prize, prize winner agrees to release the Released Parties from any and all liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by entering the promotion or for damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use/misuse of prize awarded, or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to and from any prize-related activity. All local, state and federal taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. If any portion of prize is cancelled or rescheduled for any reason, Sponsor will not be responsible for awarding that portion of the prize, but the remainder of the prize package will be awarded. The Prize package is not exchangeable, transferable, or redeemable for cash. There are no substitutions unless specified by the Sponsor. The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to substitute any prize package with another prize of equal or greater value in the event that the prize (or any component thereof) is not available. The trip must be completed by December 17, 2008 or the prize will be forfeited.
Drawing and Notification: The potential Grand Prize Winner will be selected, from among all eligible entries received, in a random drawing conducted on or about January 15, 2008 by American Sweepstakes & Promotion Co. (“the Administrator”) an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received. Potential winners will be notified by phone and mail. Upon initial notification and verification of potential Grand Prize winner, confirmation will be sent to winner in writing via USPS mail, or other home delivery service of Sponsor’s choice.
Prize Conditions: Winners are solely responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes associated with the receipt of any prize. The Grand Prize winner will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release, and return it within 14 days of written notification. Travel companion must also execute and return a travel release. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes. All taxes, if applicable, are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner’s entry, and acceptance of the prize offered, constitutes permission (except where prohibited) for the Sponsor to use said winner’s name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice and address (city and state), in all forms of media, in perpetuity, without notice or further compensation.
Terms & Conditions: This sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sweepstakes Administrator, and waive any right to claim ambiguity in the sweepstakes or these Official Rules. Winners and entrants also agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor, vendors associated with the sweepstakes, and the respective officers and employees of these entries, from and against any claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in any part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize offered, or participation in this sweepstakes. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the sweepstakes mechanics and/or implementation will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This sweepstakes is void where prohibited.
